Featured Author Sue Fagalde Lick

Her poems, essays, and articles have been published in many print and online markets. She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize in both fiction and nonfiction and won first prize in Willamette Writers’ Kay Snow Awards for poetry.

In addition to her writing, Sue sings and plays guitar, piano, and mandolin, performing at various local venues and serving as a music minister at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Waldport, Oregon.

A native of San Jose, California, she earned her BA in journalism at San Jose State University and worked at numerous community and special-interest newspapers before becoming a full-time freelancer. She earned her MFA in creative writing at Antioch University, Los Angeles in 2003 and has taught workshops in article-writing, creative writing, poetry, and publishing at Oregon Coast Community College, Chemeketa Community College, online, and at meetings and conferences across the country.

A former president of the Silicon Valley Branch of California Writers Club, Writers on the Edge, and Oregon Poetry Association, Sue is co-founder of the Central Oregon Coast chapter of Willamette Writers. 
Sue lives in South Beach, Oregon.
